It isn’t to simply get rid of your anxiety. Doing this only creates more anxiety (I know, so annoying!). Instead, I use a softer approach of turning towards your anxiety to get to know why it’s there and becoming curious about how it might be serving a really important function in your life.
We spend a lot of time getting to know your body and nervous system, exploring what’s happening inside, and offering your body lots and lots of care. After all, anxiety keeps your body in a state where you are using a lot of survival energy which more or less means you’re always on and always alert…hello exhaustion! Learning how to rest, feel pleasure, and find a sense of calmness inside of yourself is foundational work to healing anxiety.
