Expect to hear back from me in 1-2 business days. Please know I take it oh so seriously that you bravely reached out and asked for help. I make it a point to respond to you promptly because it’s really not a great feeling to ask for help and hear crickets…
FAQs
When can I expect to feel better?
This is a great question. We are not in the business of overnight change and sadly don’t have any magic wands. Just as these problems took a lot of time to show up, they will also take time to shift and change. It’s not uncommon to feel worse before you start to feel better. While it’s hard to give a concrete timeframe of when you’ll start to feel better, lots of folks start to experience relief within the first 3-4 months of therapy.
How long will I be in therapy for?
It depends, but I’ll be upfront that this isn’t fast or quick work! (Annoying and also good for many reasons) More often than not, I work with folks on a long-term basis. Some folks find relief after a few months, but most often I’m seeing folks for 1-3ish years. It’s a commitment for sure but one I believe is incredibly kind to you, the people you’re in relationship with, and the generations to come.
What if I don’t live in NC, SC or TX?
If you are not living in NC, SC, or TX I sadly cannot see you due to state licensing laws. There’s murmurings the laws are changing to allow counselors to provide mental health care to folks across America and we are huge advocates for that. Until then, here’s a resource I created about how to find a therapist that’s the right fit for you!
Where is your therapy office located?
My therapy office is conveniently located in the SouthPark neighborhood right across the street from Phillips Place. You’ve probably driven past the brick houses many a times. My office is located at 6809 Fairview Rd. There’s plenty of parking, it’s easy to find, and I think you’ll find my little office to be cozy, colorful, and quite a safe space to do some good wholehearted therapy in.
Do you take insurance?
I do not take insurance. However, you can pay for therapy sessions through your HSA account. Another option is to check and see if your insurance reimburses for out of network coverage. If they do, I will gladly provide you with a superbill at the end of every month for you to send to your insurance to be reimbursed.
What’s a superbill?
A superbill is a form that itemizes the mental health services provided to you. A diagnosis will be given on the superbill. This superbill will allow you to bill your insurance company to be partially or fully reimbursed for services provided. You are still responsible for paying for your session and then communicating directly with your insurance provider about reimbursement.
How much do sessions cost?
The cost of sessions are $180. I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients experiencing financial difficulty. If you are needing a sliding scale, reach out to see if I have any openings for you and if not I’ll gladly provide you with a few trusted referrals of therapists that are in your budget.
Do you have any good book recommendations for me?
You, kind soul, are in the right place because yours truly likes to read…a lot. :) Books are hugely important because they can offer you language to name your experience in meaningful ways. Also, please, please, please read fiction not just self-help. Spending time with characters who are like you and also not like you increases your empathy and expands your view of humanity. You can check out my full library that I update fairly regularly with great books for mental-health, anxiety, trauma, therapists, faith, and more here!
